Construction Engineering Manager - Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates
Job Description We currently seek a high calibre Construction Engineering Manager (MEP) to work on a direct basis.
Based in Abu Dhabi, you will be working for one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement and construction companies to the Builings & Infrastructure industry.
Responsibilties:
• Supervises the MEP construction engineers and coordinates their activities with the activities of the Construction Engineering Department and other project departments.
• Provides guidance, training and development of MEP Construction Engineering personnel
• Establishes and maintains effective communication between the company and the design engineer to ensure the timely flow of design documents and information
• Maintains liaison with the company’s technical and construction support departments to provide the technical and construction engineering expertise required to support the project
• Coordinates, in conjunction with the Contract Administration group, the Performs technical administration of contracts
• Reviews design drawings for completeness and constructability
• Provides technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem-solving activities
• Provides technical evaluation of bid proposals
• Monitors the status of material deliveries to minimize schedule delays by cooperating with A/E or client expeditors
• Prepares travel packages, work packages and other construction-related information in a timely manner as required to support the work schedule
• Maintains liaison with the design engineer to schedule and coordinate the release of construction design documents in support of the construction schedule
• Monitors the receipt of marked-up drawings and information required for the preparation of as-built drawings
• Checks, logs, and processes vendor and shop drawings
Required Candidate Profile
Key Skill Sets You will have knowledge and/or experience of the following:
The position requires significant experience on larger-scale healthcare projects utilitizing western materials and methods.
A blend of GC and program management experience is preferred.
International project experience is mandatory and MENA Region experience is preferred.
Extensive MEP experience on technically-demanding project through system startup and commissioning is required.
• You must have experience ofWorking for an EPC company, preferably in the Middle East
