Job Description The Structural Supervisor shall be responsible, but not limited to, the following:
1.1 Ensures the fabrication is carried out to the required Classification and Client standards.
1.2 Ensures fabrication and construction is carried out safely.
1.3 Ensures all CLIENT S procedures and policies are observed and work carried out in compliance.
1.4 Monitors level of fabrication crew and completion of time sheets and daily reports to Yard Superintendent.
1.5 Monitors level of production and recommends changes as required.
1.6 Ensures welders and fabricators have the correct equipment and PPE required for the job.
1.7 Ensures fabrication equipment is used correctly and in good condition.
1.8 Ensures stocks of consumables are maintained and ordered in good time.
1.9 Guides the Fabricators and Welders in their daily work.
Profile 4.1 At least a Technical College qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education.
4.2 With minimum 3 Years of general experience preferably within Marine Structural Fabrication environment.
4.3 Must have good communication skills, well organized and exercise sound judgment in decision making.
4.4 Has in-depth understanding of Welding, Steel Fabrication processes and procedures and makes appropriate decisions based on this knowledge.
4.5 Limited knowledge of mechanical outfitting.
4.6 Exposure to marine standards is desirable.
4.7 Knowledge and experience in Classification Requirements for Construction is preferred.
4.8 Software expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word is essential. Knowledge in other MS Office packages is an advantage.
4.9 Ability to deal with people tactfully and effectively.
4.10 Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
4.11 With good command of the English language (written/ spoken).
